you can never mention composting enough.

katie had mentioned to me about composting pumpkins, and I thought it was a great idea. After doing a little more research, you can scrape the flesh to make a pie before you break it down and add it to your compost pile.

Here is some info on the pumpkin aspect, not to mention composting in general. They have new great bins that are inexpensive. Check em out and let me know what you think.

    How to compost your pumpkin

    * The seeds and pulp can go straight in the compost bin (if you don’t want to try making soup!)

    * Once Halloween is over, break up the pumpkin shell and add it to the compost

    * Remember your compost needs a balance of ‘brown’ such as leaves and shredded paper) and ‘green’ ingredients (including kitchen scraps – like pumpkin!)

    * In the spring, you can even use the compost to grow your own pumpkins!
